It also can purpose to be a wetting and dispersing agent aiding insoluble particles such as shade pigments or inorganic sunscreens (zinc/titanium dioxide) to disperse good and in some cases in liquids.  I also like this is in a very tub, I do have some oil cleansers with a pump that get the job done great, but I tend to part out good cleansing
